Who Is This Generation? - Take a Look Back  Generation X( )- America’s 13th Generation - offspring of the boomers - Woodstock generation  Childhood didn’t matter  Nation at Risk  Movies - the Exorcist, Children of the Corn  Children were to be seen not heard

Generation X  Very much individuals - efficient  Do not want to waste time  Dynamic, entrepreneurial  Respect Time  Give you what you need  Do not feel and do not like to be part of any group

Who Are the Millennials?  1982 ?  Society is involved in raising the child  Kinder politics  More laws on the books now to protect these children then ever before.

Who Are the Millennials?  Decrease in violence in schools.  Drugs and alcohol is down, teen pregnancy and abortions are down.  Education – Teamwork, community service, the small school movement – non- competitive sports – social recess.  Block scheduling and looping

Who Are the Millennials?  Cooperative Learners to the MAX  Not very individual  Parents are very involved  Parents are their child’s best friend and many times this is stated by the child  Confident

Millennials  Team Oriented – trust, cooperate highest rate of those that volunteer.  Most 24/7 connected generation – IAM, chatting, cameras etc.  No fears about privacy – social networking online
