East Midlands SCN overview Between 2009 and 1011, 23 people a day died from cancer in the East Midlands Urgent GP referrals for suspected cancer are estimated to rise by 46% on 2013/14 figures to 162, 363 cases by 2019/20 Within the area, there are variations in service provision, outcomes, staffing and service access

Cancer Care: Cancer Commissioning Toolkit : Key Points Generally, areas within East Midlands SCN have mixed income deprivation scores and mainly higher percentages of residents aged 75 and over There are 4,889 people aged 75 and over, living for years after their diagnosis Cancer incidence and mortality trends in the East Midlands follow the national trend although slightly lower
