Lewisham has significantly higher incidence of lung Ca than London or England average Mortality 23% of Ca deaths (all ages) in Lewisham were due to lung/bronchus Ca Lewisham has higher mortality rate for lung cancer in comparison to England but similar to neighbours Survival 35.8% 1 year survival from lung cancer in Lewisham (2014), although has been improving over last 6 years (31.4% in 2008) Epidemiology

4 Early Detection and Diagnosis

5 Difference in life expectancy of about 6 years between most and least affluent in Lewisham
Approximately 20% of that is thought to be due to cancer, with around 60% of this cancer mortality difference in men being due to lung cancer (i.e. 12% of the total difference in life expectancy) Inequalities in smoking thought to be a driving factor Inequalities
