Toys created bonds and ties to family more like people than objects Education read and wrote to pass time found joy in any activity Work did chores for the foster family Life little sanitization, food, or water

Children (13-18) were sent to labor camps Most died of harsh conditions Worked in German War Efforts factories Unnecessary tasks such as running up 186 stairs with concrete blocks.

Britain allowed children seventeen and younger to come to Britain after Kristallnacht. More that 10,000 children lives were saved. Younger children were terrified, but some older children saw the move as an adventure. The Children were placed with family or foster parents.

1. Children would stay with mothers 2. Ordered to undress and shave all hair. 3. Early, standing roll calls lasting hours 4. Toilet facilities were open at one time 5. Small meal of soup, bread, and coffee 6. End the day with work and labor.

 More than 1,200 children were moved to the U.S  Many survived by smuggling food and medicines into ghettos  Children started underground resistance  Still scared with murdered family and sights
