MY INTRODUCTION KIA DOUGLAS

CAREER DEVELOPMENT FACILITATOR MY GOAL IS TO BECOME A CAREER DEVELOPMENT FACILITATOR WHICH WILL GIVE ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO ASSIST YOUNG PEOPLE AS THEY PREPARE TO ENTER THE WORKFORCE OR PURSUE DEGREES OF HIGHER LEARNING.

DEGREES I HOLD AN UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION ALONG WITH A MASTER’S DEGREE IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION. WITH BOTH OF THESE DEGREES ALONG WITH THE EDUCATION DEGREE I’M PURSUING NOW, WORKING WITH STUDENTS AND ADULTS FROM IMPOVERISHED AREAS WILL AFFORD ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO GIVE SOMEONE A “HAND UP” SO THEY WILL BE ABLE TO BETTER THEMSELVES AND CHASE AFTER THEIR DREAMS.

LEARNING OUTCOMES I BELIEVE THE LEARNING OUTCOME OF INTEGRATING TECHNOLOGY INTO THE CLASSROOM IS VERY USEFUL. TEACHING BEGINS WITH HAVING STUDENTS TO LEARN, AND EVERY CHILD HAS THE ABILITY TO LEARN. THE USE OF COMPUTERS, IPADS, AND SMARTBOARDS IN THE CLASSROOM IS WHAT THE 21 ST CENTURY LEARNING SKILLS ARE ALL ABOUT. GROWING AND EXPANDING OUR CHILDREN WITH A WEALTH OF TECHNOLOGICAL KNOWLEDGE IS SOMETHING THEY CAN USE AND SHARE IN THEIR FUTURES.

UNIVERSAL DESIGN OF LEARNING WITH THE UNIVERSAL DESIGN OF LEARNING (UDL) FRAMEWORK, EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES ARE RECOGNIZING THAT STUDENTS ARE ABLE TO LEARN EVEN IF SOME LEARN DIFFERENTLY. NO TWO STUDENTS LEARN THE SAME WAY OR AT THE SAME PACE.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES MASTERING THE COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES (CLO) WILL MAKE ME BETTER EQUIPPED TO PURSUE MY PROFESSIONAL CAREER THAT WILL ENABLE ME TO BE A COMMUNICATOR, MOTIVATOR, AND AN EFFECTIVE AND POSITIVE LEADER. BECOMING A CAREER DEVELOPMENT FACILITATOR IS AN IDEAL POSITION FOR ME AND KNOWING THAT I HAVE MADE A POSITIVE INVESTMENT IN A YOUNG PERSON’S LIFE IS A REWARD WITHIN ITSELF.
