From Plan to Poster

DRILL: Take out your poster plan and an iPad min lesson 1. What could you repeat in your design? 2. DRAW ‘FREE’ AND ‘WORLD’ WITH MS. GAUGER. (25) 4 letter word/ 5 letter word. +5 for an extra word. 3. Try to complete your plan today, so that you can begin painting next class. 4. (40pts) Post 2 pics of your plan on Edmodo by the end of next class. Post progress/ change in your drawing beginning to end +5 for a 3 rd picture. +5 if you have completed all requirements on plan and your are painting. Take pics today. Objective: You will brainstorm and describe your ideas in order to draw a plan for your figure narrative painting.

National Gallery of Art Field Trip  Everyone is invited in Fundamentals of Art  National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC  APRIL 8, 2016  $16.00  First come, first serve  Money is due March 23  I’ll sign permission slips for those who have A, B, or C.  D’s and E’s ~ Raise your grade, and I will sign it. All get signed on Wed. Also, upper level students get invited.  You should have good attendance, be on time, and be respectful.

Paint Trays  Everyone should have a paint palette.  To get a brand new one-  Wash your old one and show Ms. Gauger- trade  Have your plan finished.  Use the ones you shared, too.  You will need to share your zip loc bag. Place 2 trays per zip loc bag.  Lunch Trays are the last offering for people that take longer on their plan. They are to be saved in bag overnight, then washed and reused.

When getting paint: 1. Get dime to nickel size pumps of tempera paint (near sink) BE CAREFUL! 2. Paint tray with white, black, and the three primary colors. 3. Use mirror to mix on. 4. A variety of paint brushes 5. Cup of water 6. Newspaper square.

How to Store Paint 1. Splash with a little bit of water. 2. Put cardboard over paint. 3. Put in ziploc bag. 4. Share 2 people per bag with 2 pieces of cardboard. 5. Store with your sketchbook.

Washing your Brush 1. Rinse with water Bang (lightly) on bottom of sink 4. Add liquid soap. 5. Bang on bottom of sink until water runs clear. 6. Re-shape bristles. 7. Place in drying rack WITH THE BRISTLES UP!!!!
