Thomas Edison By Hercelyn R. Rencher

Childhood Thomas Alva Edison was born in Milan, Ohio. At a young age, Edison began experimenting with printing presses and electrical and mechanical apparatuses.

Adulthood Thomas Edison worked as a telegraph operater. His important invention was a telegraphic repeating instument.

Electrical Vote Recorder In 1868, Thomas Edison invented the electrical vote recorder. The electrical vote recorder allowed votes to be recorded automatically, Which sped up the voting process.

Typewriter In 1871, Thomas Edison assisted Christopher Latham Sholes in inventing the first typewriter.

Phonograph Edison invented a phonograph which is similar to what we use today called a record player(1876).

Inventions we use today Another invention Edison invented was the light bulb(1878). A light uses electricity to light up things around you.

Kinetoscope In 1888, Edison invented the Kinetoscope. The kinetoscope was the first machine to produce motion pictures by a rapid success of individual views.

Edison’s Death Thomas Alva Edison died on October 19th, 1931. He was buried in West Orange New Jersey.
