AMERICAN IDEALS: RECAP Scan through your data to see which IDEAL you seemed to use the most. Trace how that IDEAL has developed throughout history – are there any trends that you notice? When are times that America has lived up to these IDEALS? When don’t we live up to them?

HW REVIEW What did we call our first national constitution? How was it organized? What were the two most important powers of the new Congress in your opinion? What was the Northwest Ordinance? Was there a single leader? Why?

GOAL: EXAMINE WEAKNESSES OF ARTICLES  Read each placard – the letter in the top right hand corner corresponds to the letter on the chart.  Fill in the chart – either WHY it was included or POSSIBLE problems with this feature.

ANALYSIS QUESTIONS: AT THE BOTTOM OF YOUR HOMEWORK Why do you think the Continental Congress shaped the Articles of Confederation the way they did? What were the major problems created by the Articles of Confederation? Which 2 features do you think caused the most problems?
