Rules 1 “To Be” Verbs and Topic / Comment Sentence Structure

State of being verbs

Topic/Comment Sentence  Topic/Comment. In a simple topic/comment sentence, the topic is described first then followed by the comment.

An Example  Two years ago I had a wonderful vacation. (English version)

English to ASL practice  The ASL test is easy.  ASL test, easy  The dog is good, give it a cookie.  Dog good, you-give-it cookie.

Examples of topic comment sentence  ASL: You take-up science, me surprised.  E: I am surprised that you are taking science.
