How should we arrange a salad?

It needs to be FRESH! Fresh enough to have a frog living in your lettuce (but don’t eat the frog and WASH your lettuce!) -Focus on freshness, why?

C O L O R -Make it colorful, why?

Texture – salad items need to have the right texture (crisp, soft, smooth…) WHY?

Ingredient Preparation -Ingredients should be well drained and cut into convenient eating sizes

Final Preparation - Prepared right before serving. Dressing should be mixed in all together right before OR placed in a container off to the side. NO ONE likes soggy salad, yuck!

Italian Pasta Salad 1/2 pkg. Pasta, cooked & cooled (fun shape) 10 Olives, cut in half ¼ onion, sliced & quartered ½ Tomato, diced ¼ c. Pepperonis, sliced into strips ½ c. Broccoli flowettes and stems (PEELED), cut small (SMALL DICE) ½ c. Cauliflower flowerets, small (SMALL DICE) ¼ bottle Caesar Italian dressing ¼ bottle Italian dressing 2 TB Parmesan cheese *Prepare all ingredients. Combine all ingredients in order & toss lightly. Top with parmesan cheese. Eat and enjoy!
