The dog and the Shadow  Once, a dog got a nice piece of meat for his dinner. The dog wanted to eat it in peace at home. So he trotted along with the meat in his mouth, as happy as a king.  On his way home, there was a bridge across a river. The river was still and clear. He stopped and looked down. He saw another dog looking up at him under the water. Also the dog had meat in his mouth!  I’ll take that, and then I can have even better dinner,” he thought.  So he fiercely barked at the dog and his meat fell to the bottom of the river. Then he saw that the other dog also lost his piece of meat. He sadly went home.

Listening work  Once, a dog 1…………….a niece piece of meat for his dinner. The dog wanted to eat it In 2……………….at home. So he trotted along with the meat in his mouth, as 3……………………….as a king.  On his way home, there was a 4………………………across a river. The river was still and clear. He stopped and looked down.
