A simple Question: Does our current 6 period schedule best serve our students? What other options might there be that would be of high value to our students?

Only having six periods limits students. (3 examples) This became our evaluative tool when considering other options.

Prioritizing additional opportunities Stay put with six Expanding zero and seven period Seven period schedule (with holes) Eight period alternating

What about the longer class period? Allows for ideas to be more fully developed. Many of the most effective teaching strategies require a greater amount of time. Varied activities keep students engaged. Less stopping and starting means more learning over all.

What about every other day? Longer stretches between lessons One absence in a class is a bigger deal More flexibility for students to get work done Variety for students and teachers

Looking Back: Over a year of discussion and research Staff discussion, both large and small group Parent focus group Site visits to two schools Visit from neighboring school School Board and District support

Moving forward Larger scale community conversations Professional development plan Board approval* Master schedule Staffing (?)
