 Our trailer presents our unique selling point (USP) of our narrative which contains multiple different things going on at once and also each individual character has his own separate introduction using high art freeze framing and voiceovers which are very postmodern techniques. Our trailer includes the heist on a drug dealer known as ‘Narco’ by a group of people. The money then goes missing as someone within the group has taken it. The storyline comes as very tense due to everything that is happening and what it is actually about. With all of this in mind it matches very conventional themes of a postmodern film. Some of the more tense scenes come from our interrogation scenes and also a standoff at the end.

 Our particular USP is purely the fact that there is multiple things happening in the narrative at once and also the large use of iconography in the trailer. There are also key phrases and words used within the trailer which helps give a better understanding of what is going on i.e. ‘You have 48 hours’ is not only said but also shown in the form of text and goes with the fact that our film is called ‘The deadline’. This could also give an insinuation that towards the deadline something big may happen. The use of the work ‘YOU’ tells us that the words are not being spoken of by any of the protagonists leading to the belief that there could be an antagonist or maybe even more than 1 antagonist.

 We have a pretty big target audience which is aimed at people between the ages of 18 and 40. Our characters relate to the target audience as they fall into the category of the ages of our target audience. Us ourselves making the trailer would also be something that would maybe attract more attention and also our use of our advertising complain would create a lot of hype for the film. A really good USP is the fact that the whole trailer is filmed and acted out by young adults. We also used pull marketing which ties in good with our target audience as it is seen that more youth use the internet and can gain access to our products.. We have created a Twitter page for our film giving information about the film and trailer which is a good social networking website to advertise due to its popularity. This will also make it easier to get certain content across to our audience such as videos, images and other content. The end result of our films age rating was 18 as t then offers more freedom with our content and also it is obviously about drugs and violence etc.

 We had created multiple film posters and I also had made one myself which I tried to make as conventional to postmodernism as I could. I took inspiration from a poster used in the film ‘Back to the future’ and went for a western style poster which was in the layout of a wanted poster which displayed all the information about the film including who starred in it and also something that is typical to a wanted poster it had a reward on it which was in the sum of money. I thought this matched our target audience very well as it is aged between and is also very eye catching for people who would come across it. We had other posters made as well to give us more variety and a better poster campaign to display our film in more than one type of poster.

 Our films magazine front cover which was created by Jake was made in the format of an ‘Empire’ magazine which is where a lot of the inspiration for the magazine was taken from. We used empire as they are a very well respected and well known magazine for films. Although it is a mainstream magazine and our film is an indie film we thought that tying the two together and combining mainstream advertisement with an independent film that it would be beneficial for both ourselves and our film and also the magazine advertisement itself.

 All of our products made including the magazine and poster all have hints about what the film will be about and also gives an idea of what kind of characters are in the film itself. For example of the poster I made it featured a character standing in the middle of a wanted poster so there will already be an idea of what one of the characters look like. Something that is quite good is the use of the masks we used as it conceals the identity of our character sand is also a well known factor of British crime films for people to try and hide who they really are which also drops a hint that maybe something happens that means they had to conceal who they really were to the audience which creates an interest of the unknown.  Using lots of popular social media sites i.e. YouTube, Facebook, Twitter etc. will really help advertising our film to a large audience as all of these websites are used by millions of people therefore we are aiming it all at our target audience but it is also at the same time open for anyone to see and could attract all sorts of different people to gain interest in the film. There will also be push marketing done as well for example advertising ion billboards, bus stops, signs on roadsides etc. to really try and get our film shown to as many people as possible and to really try and get our target audience interested.  To get us started with our advertisement it would be starting off small with maybe showing our advertisement off at some well known festivals i.e. reading, Glastonbury etc. which will then be on show for the whole festival to see and will help our film gain more attention. However a lot of the advertisement would be done in Brighton/London as our film is a British crime film and will be able to attract more people from these kinds of areas. Overall we aim to focus on getting our film across to our target audience by advertising our trailer, magazine cover and posters around festivals and local areas to help and then will get people talking about it and we will also show it all over popular social media sights.
