A DVERTISING C AMPAIGNS

B ARNARDO ’ S Target Audience: Barnardo’s target audience is both male and female and is aimed at ages around years old and it will probably have more of an affect on people who already have children or people who are looking to soon have children. Campaign Message: Bernardo’s campaign message is to try and make you donate money to their charity to help children who are born into poverty and have a hard chance of having a good life. Representation: Bernardo’s try and make you donate money by shocking you with their magazine advertisements of the babies.

This advert is showing a baby that looks happy and healthy. There is a gold glow over the image which is created by ambient light and it creates a healthy happy and warm feel to the image. The baby is placed on a fur blanket with a silver spoon in its mouth and this tells us that this baby is born into a good family with money. The fact the baby has a clean nappy shows its family properly look after the baby and have money to keep the baby healthy and clean. The baby looks a little bit chubby and this shows that the baby gets fed well and always has something to eat. The text is placed neatly in a column in the corner of the picture to keep the image looking simple and to not cover up the babies face. Barnardo’s logo is also put in the corner out of the way of the actual picture to keep the picture looking clean and organised.

Now unlike the other photo, this photo is a whole different side of what babies are born into. This baby looks dirty and unhealthy from the cold colour of its skin and all the sweat and yellow over the babies head and body. Unlike the other photo this baby is placed on a green cold sheet where as the other baby was placed on a warm fur blanket. The obvious thing about this image is the bottle being poured down the babies mouth, now obviously this bottle is photoshopped but it is trying to show that some babies are born into terrible lives and are born into poverty. The lighting created for this image is a blueish green colour and it creates a cold feel to the image. The text is placed in the top corner mainly in a column and the Bernardos logo is in the bottom corner to keep the image looking organised.

This again is another terrible image of a baby that would be born into poverty. The baby in this image looks dirty because of all the sweat and slime that looks like is all over the babies body. It also looks unhealthy and skinny and this shows that this baby might not be as fortunate as the first baby and not able to get food when ever it wants it. The lighting created makes a hot feel to the image but not a warm one, the type where the baby would be sweating and in pain over the heat. The cockroach coming out of the babies mouth is trying to say that this baby isn’t as fortunate as other babies and want have a healthy life like a baby should. The text is in a column in the corner and the Barnardo’s sign is in the bottom corner to keep the photo looking simple and organised.

This baby looks like it is filthy and hasn’t been washed one. Its hair looks like it is all greasy and has lots and lots of gunk in its hair and all over its body. It looks skinny and unhealthy and this is probably because it will not be able to get food when ever it wants it. The lighting used is a blueish green lighting and it creates a cold atmosphere on the image. The need going into the babies mouth is showing that the baby might be grown up around drugs and might start taking drugs when it grows up. The text is in a small column in the bottom corner along with the Barnardos sign and they do this to keep the photo organised and simple.

T ESCO C HEROKEE Target Audience: The target audience is people aged around It is for people who care more about comfort than how they look in clothing. Campaign message: Tesco Cherokee is trying to say that their clothes are the best clothes to buy for comfort. They’re trying to say that once you have on their clothes, nothing will be able to bother you. Representation: They make you believe that they’re the most comfortable clothes by the advertisements that they post. They do it by using humour like putting a girls leg in a bear trap whilst she has their clothes on and the bear trap doesn’t bother her as shes relaxing and smiling.

The girl in this photo is wearing the Cherokee clothing and this photo is trying to show that these clothes are the most comfiest clothes to wear since not even being trapped in a bear trap can bother you. It looks like only natural light would have been used for this photo although ambient light might of also been used to make the girl stand out more and make her a little bit brighter. They follow a earthy colour scheme with the brown clothing to match the trees and the dirt along with the green leaves. The Cherokee logo is placed in the bottom corner out the way of the main image to keep the photo looking organised and simple.
