Linking Verbs Many verbs are action words. These verbs may tell the action that the subject is doing now. Some verbs do not show action.

Linking Verbs The verbs is and are do not show action. These verbs are linking verbs. They link the subject to a word that tells about the subject right now.

Linking Verbs Use is when there is one in the subject. Use are when there is more than one in the subject.
