The Master Technology Teacher knows how to implement and assess technology-enhanced instruction to meet the diverse needs and abilities of all students. Competency 008

The Master Technology Teacher demonstrates knowledge of assistive technology as defined by the state and federal regulations. Competency 008: E

The United States Department of Education defines Assistive Technology as any item, piece of equipment, or product system, modified or customized that is used to increase, maintain or improve the functional capabilities of a child with a disability. What is Assistive technology?

What is IDEA? IDEA is the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, a federal law that assures students with disabilities receive free appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment.

The Master Technology Teacher recognizes that technology may be assistive, instructional or both, depending on a student’s instructional and developmental needs. Competency 008: F
