BVSC TEAM CHALLENGE Birmingham Community Association, Small Heath We were established in To provide a warm and safe environment for members and the wider community to participate in activities that promote healthy lifestyles, education and career opportunities. Our values are Equal opportunities, Community cohesion, Democracy, Accountability and Partnerships.

TASK 1 GARDEN OVERHAUL Gardening This popular community centre has a large garden that has fell into disuse. The grass and weeds are very overgrown. It has previously been used for community events and summer BBQs, however in its current state this is not really possible. A team would be much appreciated to get the bulk of this project under control – giving the garden a much needed makeover.

TASK 2 Team Size: FRESH COAT OF PAINT Painting It is a well-used community centre, which offers the community a great deal. As it is run solely through the help of volunteers, the centre would really appreciate a helping hand from a team to tackle the job. Here are some more photos of the spaces which need a fresh coat of paint. There are also two smaller office rooms, which would benefit from a fresh coat of paint too.

ABOUT BVSC TEAM CHALLENGE BVSC is the key voluntary sector support organisation in Birmingham. As part of our programme of support for the sector we are working to engage local private businesses in volunteering and the sector. Team Challenge Birmingham is a programme of fully-facilitated community action volunteering for companies to get involved in. Team Challenge days make a sustainable and valuable alternative to typical team building days offering opportunities to develop team work, initiative and communication skills as well as showcasing some of the fantastic local community work that goes on in the city. BVSC will provide you with a Project Coordinator who will organise and prepare the volunteering activity on your behalf to minimise the disruption to your core business. A trained member of staff will be on site through out your volunteering day to coordinate the project ensuring maximum output for the volunteers and the host organisation.
