4 How often they provoked Him in the wilderness, And grieved Him in the desert! Yes, again and again they tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel. -- Psalm 78:40-41

5 For forty years I was grieved with that generation, And said, “It is a people who go astray in their hearts, And they do not know My ways.” -- Psalm 95:10

6 But they rebelled and grieved His Holy Spirit; So He turned Himself against them as an enemy, And He fought against them. -- Isaiah 63:10

16 If we love God If we care about the heart of God Let us do our utmost to avoid sin. Let us repent of sin immediately upon becoming aware of it in our lives. Let us be in awe of the goodness and grace of God, who despite our hurtful behavior, still loves us with an everlasting love. (Jer. 31:3)
