December 5, 2008 Mrs. Cook’s Class Dear Parents, Our Thanksgiving Friendship Potluck was a great success and it was just wonderful seeing so many of you there. Many thanks to everyone for all of your delicious food. I hope you all enjoyed the Thanksgiving holiday with your family and friends and had a chance to eat your way through some more delicious meals. If any of you would like to add Alligator Pie to your cooking repertoire, please be sure to see this month’s photo gallery! It’s hard to believe that our Winter break is less than two weeks away! And these busy two weeks will certainly fly by. Our Room Moms are busy planning the children’s classroom Christmas party, which will take place the last week of school before vacation. Watch for more information about how you can help. I’ve certainly loved working with your enthusiastic children this first semester of kindergarten, and I look forward to many more enjoyable experiences in the semester to come. This class continues to be a lovely and fun group, and I’ve seen so much progress since those first beginning days in August. Meili and I really appreciate all of you, all of your children, and all of your support this first semester. Whatever you do, and wherever you go over the winter holidays, please just have a wonderful vacation. We’ll look forward to being back together again in 2009! (More…) Letters, letters, letters… Our class has been most successful learning our letters, our letter sounds, putting letters together to make words, reading these words, and writing lots of words to express ourselves… you just wouldn’t believe it!

Makenna turned six!Adding lots of good work to our portfolios! Checking out the weather for our November Weather Reports! (More…) Peeking in the window! Time for a puppet show!

Our handprint turkeys! Everyone enjoyed themselves at our delicious Thanksgiving Friendship Potluck. (And more…) Our computer turkeys…“Gobble Gobble Gobble!”

Wearing our turkey hats! Thanksgiving dinner in the cafeteria with our fellow Indians, Pilgrims and lots of turkeys! Turkeys heading down to the cafeteria! Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!
