2 Objective To gauge the smoking behavior and habits of people To analyze the trends, and patterns amongst respondents with regards to smoking

3 Research Methodology Respondents answered a set of objective questions For each question answered, respondent had to choose a statement to explain the belief Sample and Research Tool: Platform : Facebook (social) Respondents :1011 people Age : 22 to 45 years

6 Peer pressure is the key reason that influences people to smoke Reasons.. Q. What according to you is the chief reason why people start smoking?

14 77% of the respondents own a regular health insurance policy as against a specialized policy with critical illness or policy with high deductibles Q. In case of a health insurance policy, what kind of policy do you own? Regular policy / vs. special policy

15 To create awareness, dry days and no tobacco days is a great idea to have. Dry day/ no tobacco day is important 60% feel that having a no tobacco day is a Great idea!! Q. Just like dry days, should there be no tobacco sales on certain days too?

16 Summary 54% respondents smoke regularly Peer pressure is the key reason, people smoke 49% feel smoking is too hard an addiction to quit Banning smoking in most place is an effective measure according to most of the respondents Pictorial warnings and plain packaging don't hold a measurable impact on smokers Only 10% purchase a health insurance immediately to protect their health Regular health insurance policy as against a speci al policy covering critical illness or a policy with high deductibles is most sought after 60% of the respondents feel, just like dry days, ther e should be no tobacco daystoo...
