Facial hair grows faster than any other hair on the body. Every day the average person loses strands of hair from head Women’s hair is about half the diameter of men’s hair. One human hair can support 3.5 ounces. The fastest growing nail is on the middle finger. There are as many hairs per square inch on your body as a chimpanzee. Fingernails grow nearly 4 times faster than toenails. The lifespan of a human hair is 3 to 7 years on average. You must lose over 50% of your scalp hairs before it is apparent to anyone Human hair is virtually indestructible.

Nail Plate – Hard portion. Most visible.

Lunula - whitish, half-moon shape at the base of your nail underneath the plate.

Cuticle - tissue that overlaps the base of your nail plate and protects the new keratin cells that grow on the nail bed.

Nail folds - the skin that frames three sides of your nail.

Nail bed - the skin underneath the nail plate.

Lee Redmond (USA). Ms. Redmond, who hasn’t cut her nails since 1979, has grown and carefully manicured them to reach a total length of 7 m 51.3 cm (24 ft 7.8 in).

Hair shaft - made up of dead, hard protein called keratin in three layers.

Hair follicle – Includes bulb and papilla.

Hair follicle - Includes bulb and papilla Papilla – Contains tiny capillaries that feed the cells. Bulb – Surrounds papilla. Cells here divide every hours. (Fastest in the body)
