Research Emphasis: Conservation Subdivision Design (CSD) Uses a clustering approach to save open spaces, environmentally sensitive and ecologically significant lands, and historical sites -Residences are clustered in smaller lots -Remainder of the subdivision land is preserved as common open space Christopherson Fields Conservation Subdivision, Town of Merton, WI Hideaway Acres Conventional Subdivision, Town of Merton, WI Research Focus: Environmental Land Use Planning Understanding practices of and barriers to environmentally sensitive and sustainable land planning Investigating the perspectives of different stakeholders and how their attitudes and beliefs affect on-the ground outcomes
