RADAR GUNS SHARANG GHARAGAONKAR. S.Y.ME-A.

WHAT IS RADAR GUN? RADAR means Radio Detection And Ranging Radar gun is a gun used to measure speed of anything.

TYPES OF RADAR GUNS THERE ARE MAINLY TWO TYPES OF RADAR GUN- CW RADAR GUN PULSE RADAR GUN

HOW THEY ARE DESIGNED?

WHAT ARE THE WORKING PRINCIPLES? IT WORKS ON APPLICATION OOF LASER OR ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES, SOUND. IT WORKS ON DOPPLER EFFECT. RELATIVELY LOW FREQUENCY CHANGE IS The FREQUENCY CHANGE IS DIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL TO THE SPED OF THE VEHICLE The RF PULSES MUST TRAVEL OUTWARD IN A METAL ANTENNAE

HOW DOES IT WORK?

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES ? IT IS AN AUTOMATIC DEVICE. IT CAN HELP IN THIS REGARD BY DISPLAYING INFORMATION SUCH AS THE SPEED OF THE STRONGEST RETURN TARGET AND THE SPEED OF THE FASTEST TARGET. IT GIVES INSTANT RESULT ON SCREEN. THE RADAR GUN RECEIVER IS VERY SENSITIVE AND CAN DETECT THIS WEAK SIGNAL FROM A TYPICAL 3/4 MILE DISTANCE, MAXIMUM.

WHAT ARE THE DISADVANTAGES? RF ENERGY CAN BE DANGEROUS WHEN YOU ARE TO CLOSE THE ENERGY BURST. IF TWO VEHICLES ARE TRAVELING AT IDENTICAL SPEEDS, THE RADAR GUN WILL DETECT THE SPEED OF THE LARGER VEHICLE. K-BAND RADAR IS STRONGLY DIMINISHED BY HIGH ATMOSPHERIC MOISTURE SUCH AS FOG AND HEAVY RAIN

DEVELOPMENT IN RADAR GUNS K band radar was introduced in the 1980s. It is 24.15GHz (24,150,000,000 hertz per second). NOW IT CAN INDICATE THE SHAPE, SIZE, LOCATION, DISTANCE, VELOCITY AND EVEN THE COMPOSITION OF THE OBJECT, MEASURED EITHER DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY

APPLICATIONS IT IS MAINLY USED IN DEFENCE VEHIVLES TO LOCATE ENEMY AIRCRAFT AND SHIPS TO DETECT THE SPEED OF MOVING VEHICLE IT IS ALSO USED IN CRICKET TO DETECT THE SPEED OF BALL.
