Molino de Canarico is an ancient 500 year old watermill

Also known as Molino del Tio cervantes, this unique mill is in a beautiful pristine location and is the only watermill that has survived the ages...

The accommodation The mill has five bedrooms, three bathrooms, two fitted kitchen, living area with open fireplace, and has been designed so that it can be split into three independent apartments. There are many authentic and original features in the mill such as stained glass window and mosaic tiles. There are two outbuildings, one close to the main house, both have water connected to them and electricity connection can easily be extended to the latter house.

Outside The property has two large covered patios, one to the front and one to the back, as well as two sun patios. The front area has a dip pool with part decking surround. A decking area is adjacent to the building, which is partly converted into a kitchen with water and electricity connected.

The land The land amounts to one acre and has been re-planted with many indigenous trees and shrubs, In addition to this many fruit trees have been planted. Olive grove, almond, orange, lemon, plum, nispero, fig, pomegranate, carob and grape vines. Herbs including fennel, rosemary, thyme, along with lavender, capers, tomatoes and prickly pears. There is an old threshing area, streams and a ruin which can be reformed.

The area The nearest villages are tiny El Canarcio followed by Cueva del Pajaro. The town of Carboneras is around 10 kms where there are shops, good restaurants, bars, and tapa style cafes. Mojacar, around a 40 minute drive, has international restaurants, all manner of shops, supermarkets and a four star hotel. The city of Almeria is 100 kms away. From the port it is possible to take the boat over to Africa.

Location There is an International rail link going in linking Madrid and Barcelona to Vera and Almeria city. It is said to be the fastest railway in Europe. It will be possible to connect to the rest of Spain and Europe. Almeria airport is 35 minutes and the city 40 minutes. 10 minute drive to the town of Carboneras and six beaches.
