 Combat tropical boots (buckle boots) used in Korea and early parts of Vietnam War.  1957-switched to shined black combat boots.  End of war-Jungle boots were introduced.  Danielle Smith

Helmets were changed from the M1 steel helmet to a new version of the M1, which had a lower and less pronounced dome shape towards the top. Also had reverse camouflage, with green on the outside and brown on the inside. Uniform consisted of the jacket, trousers, combat boots, pistol belt and various pieces of web gear, suspenders, and socks. The uniform was based on the WW2 para uniform. Made of tightly woven, rip-stop or twill cotton poplin fabric providing protection from the sun, insects and other tropical hazards. Deanna Johnson

Standard Food Issue Meal, Combat, Individual Rations: Were referred to as “C-Rations” by the troops. Came in a small cardboard carton and consisted of an “M-unit”; meat based entrée, “B-unit”; bread item (composed of cracker and candy can and flat spread can) and the “D-unit”; dessert item. Included an accessory pack including a plastic spoon wrapped in clear plastic, hot drink mix, gum, matches, toilet paper, salt, pepper, sugar, non- diary creamer, and a small pack of cigarettes. Weighed 2.7 lbs., and was a complete meal providing approximately 1,200 calories. Deanna Johnson
