Theodor Seuss Geisel (1904 –1991) American writer and illustrator best known for authoring popular children's books under the pen name Dr. Seuss. Wrote several of the most popular children's books of all time, selling over 600 million copies that had been translated into more than 20 languages by the time of his death. Won 2 Emmys and 2 Oscars and a special Pulitzer in 1984 for half a century of literary contributions to the world.
