 Saturn  Mars  Earth  Jupiter  Pluto  Uranus  Venus  Sun

 Did you know?  Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun.  The second largest planet in the Solar System.  The rings around Saturn are mostly made from small pieces of ice.

 Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun in the Solar System.  The planet is named after the Roman god of war, Mars.  Mars has two moons, Phobos and Deimos, which are small and irregularly shaped.  Mars is larger than Mercury.

 Earth is the 5 th largest and is the 3 rd planet from the sun.  Earth is the only planet where life is known to exist  Earth is home to millions of spieces including humans.

 Jupiter is the fifth planet from the Sun.  Jupiter the largest planet within the Solar System.  Jupiter is a gas giant with a mass slightly less than one-thousandth of the Sun but is two and a half times the mass of all the other planets in our Solar System combined.

 Until 1978 it was believed that Pluto was much larger.  Through a telescope on Earth Charon and Pluto look like they are the same object.  However in 1978 Jim Christy discovered that what we used to think was one object, were really two.

 Uranus is very odd. Unlike all the other planets and most of the moons in our Solar System Uranus spins on its side.  It is believed that long ago a very large object smashed into this planet. The crash was so powerful that it completely changed the direction of Uranus' spin.  Uranus may have an ocean of water beneath its clouds. It has a large rocky core, and because of the tremendous pressure could possibly contain trillions of large diamonds.

 Venus has long been one of the most misunderstood of all the inner planets. Like the Earth, Venus has an atmosphere.  However, this atmosphere is far thicker than that of the Earth, making it difficult for modern science to penetrate.  Because we cannot see the surface of the planet Venus visually, there is much we still do not know about how this planet looks, and what it is like.

 Our Sun is not unique in the universe. It is a common middle-sized yellow star which scientists have named Sol.  This is why our system of planets is called the Solar System. There are trillions of other stars in the Universe just like it. Many of these stars have their own systems of planets, moons, asteroids, and comets.  The Sun was born in a vast cloud of gas and dust around 5 billion years ago.

HOPE YOU LENERD SOMETHING ABOUT SPACE.
