CONTEXT OF MULTICULTURALISM IN HUNGARY Changes in Hungarian society: – Dominant political framework: Hungary is not multicultural society – increase of racist prejudice - constant popularity of right-wing radical part among younger voters (20%) – „Romaphobia”: negative attitudes toward roma are not dependent on socioeconomic factors – strong stereotypes and prejudices in the society – stereotypes and categories in school – ideologically based aversion to certain minority groups – E.g. Read your list of competences again. Who and what can support you to acquire competences you need to develop? Add it to your list. (Individual work 5’) Discuss your ideas about supporting possibilities in small groups. Create a poster to summarise your ideas!
