1. Summary of industrial standardization for 50 years SSS 1960’s Introduction of Standardization ▶ Legislated the Industrial Standardization Act on August 30, 1961 Established the bureau of standards and lead the project since Nov, 1961 ▶ The aim for customer protection and building trust of domestic products ▶ Basic units in industrial activities, materials, components, common testing methods, commodities were main issues ▶ To promote the use of KS standards, public institutions purchased KS certificated products preferentially since 1965 ▶ The period of creating the foundation of standardization in Korean industries
