We are in the Southern Colonies Thomas Schwenke Mr. Boyer’s class

What Happens? In the southern colonies we like to buy slaves and hunt for food. School is tough but owning a home is easy.

Family My family has my dad, Percey, my mom, Elisha, and my sister (5), Marie. We just got here and it totally fits our life style. It was hard to get a slave for our small farm because of prices.

War We in the south have slaves, including us. The north doesn’t. They assaulted the south and we quickly ran out of food. We left our farm and moved farther south, away from the war.

Tough Times The move made it hard to continue life. Our slave, Antonio, died. Our farm was gone and so was our food. We had little time to find shelter before winter.

New Life Luckily we found some old shacks and camped there. Next morning we planted some seeds we saved. Soon we will have food, shelter, and water.

Georgia We soon figured out we were in Georgia. We settled and found a nearby slave market. We were already amazed.

Life We were going to go back to where we were living but Dad decided we were better off here. We soon attended a school called, St. John’s Academy.

The story Soon we bought 3 slaves for our farm, Abraham, Jon and Hall. They got transported from Africa. School for Marie and I was tough especially since we had it 10 hours a day and every day.

Farm We soon built on our farm and had some fun times. We have a big corn field but also use it to grow other crops.
