EQUALITY AND SOLIDARITY Section 2 of final document

Why do we think this topic is important? topic is important? In society exist several pending problems: racism, ethnic discrimination and lack of respect to other citizens and the environment. It is necessary for young people to be aware of these problems and try to prevent them from becoming worse. We need to create a better society and a brighter future for us all. We embrace peace and harmony through promotion of equality and solidarity.

We as young people… Promotion of integration by organizing meetings, gatherings and sport events; International gatherings to promote the understanding of different cultures; Invite people of different cultures to join groups of friends

Organizing fund raising activities to help refugees and immigrants both socially and financially. Accept people in society, and not judge them because of their origins, beliefs and cultures. Report cases of abuse and bullying on other youths in society If everyone pulls his/her own weight in society, we can eventually improve our society.

Recommendations Promotion of information about main laws and principles to guarantee equality and solidarity Expanding the field of voluntary work and promoting information about the existing options (rights and responsibilities) Setting up a European TV channel specifically for youths to pass on information

Facilitate access to renewable sources of energy by giving special subsidies. Equality in healthcare: improvement of conditions in hospitals to reach European standards The right of access to preventive healthcare and benefits of treatment regardless of ethnicity, beliefs and origin Set up student and youth exchange meetings on a large scale: people can accept different cultures through real life experiences

THANK YOU
