We place special emphasis on developing a faith community which builds faith, hope and charity in the lives of our students in a spirit of mercy. BELIEF STATEMENTS 1.We believe that with the proper Christian example, students can successfully become educated, not just academically, but morally, for growing into strong members of the Catholic Church community. 2.We believe that a strong faith community is an essential part of our Catholic tradition, and strengthens our Christian values and academic endeavors. 3.We believe that each child is unique, and has individual needs which we strive to meet. 4.We believe that in demanding academic excellence in all subjects, including art, music, physical education, and computer science, to be achieved by students who believe in trying to do their very best, and developing a good attitude about classroom procedures. 5.We believe that we must provide a safe, caring, nurturing, and disciplined environment in which children will strive to succeed. 6.We believe that self esteem is essential to academic achievement. ACADEMIC PROGRAM Religion Mathematics Science Language Arts Social Studies Computer Education Art Music Physical Education Foreign Language Pre 4 to 8 th MIDDLE STATES ACCREDITED SPECIAL PROGRAMS 3 year old Pre School –Wednesday-and Friday 8:10 – 11 am 3 year old Pre School – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 8:10 – 11 am 3 year old Pre School – 5 days 8:10 – 11 am 4 year old Pre School –5 day full 8:10 – 3 pm or half day 12 – 3 pm All Day Kindergarten; Library; Instructional Support CAIU Support Services (Math, Reading, Counseling, Speech, Testing) IOWA TEST RESULTS The Iowa Test is taken by students across the nation and provides an excellent measure of how well students at St. Joan of Arc compare with students in this region as well as across the country. We are proud to say that our students traditionally do very well on this test. In the most recent test, which was administered in April of 2015, the average fifth through eighth grade student at St. Joan of Arc scored better on the overall Iowa Test than did well over 98% of the students nationwide. The St. Joan of Arc students scored higher than the following percentage of students at each grade level who took the test nationwide: Grade 5 – 98%Grade 6 – 97%Grade 7 – 98%Grade 8 – 96%
