Studio Pro Dynalite Flash Generator The Dynalite is the power source and main control for all lighting equipment used in the imaging process.

Dynalite: 5 Main Functions Main Power Connecting to Hardware Lighting Intensity Lighting Equipment Controls Miscellaneous

Studio Pro Dynalite Flash Generator 4 Head Outlets Power Switch A Dimmer Slide Switches Model Delay Variator Knob Main Power Ratio/Combine Sync Radio Slave Ready/Test Main Power Source Connection Audible Ready Indicator Power Switch B

Dynalite: Main Power Power on Power off Power OFF Power ON

Dynalite: Connecting to Hardware Main Power Source Connection 4 Head Outlets Sync Connection

Dynalite: Main Power Source Connection Main power source connection will connect to any wall outlet Recommendation: Connect to a different outlet than the one used for computer and imaging system

Dynalite: Head Outlets WARNING!!! DO NOT TOUCH…. Risk of dangerous, painful electric shock. These connect the Dynalite directly to the lighting equipment Allow for a maximum of four lights to be connected to the Dynalite at one time.

Dynalite: Head Outlets If more than one light is connected to the Dynalite, MUST have one light on left side and one light on right side.

Dynalite: Sync Connection This connects your lighting system to your imaging system. i.e. When your camera takes a picture, your lights will know when to flash

Dynalite Components: Lighting Intensity Lighting intensity controls (Power Switches) The lighting intensity controls influence the intensity of the lights. Can either be at Full, Half or Quarter intensity. Full = Highest Intensity (Brightest) Quarter = Lowest Intensity (Darkest) Half = Middle Intensity 6 possible intensity combinations.

Dynalite Components: Lighting Intensity Power Switch A (Controls the 2 left Head Outlets) Each Power Switch controls the 2 Head Outlets above the respective switch Note: When using more than one light, you need to have one light connected to a left Head Outlet and one light connect to a right Head Outlet. Power Switch B (Controls the 2 right Head Outlets)

Dynalite Components: Lighting Intensity Full and Full Intensity This is the highest intensity combination

Dynalite Components: Lighting Intensity Half and Half Intensity

Dynalite Components: Lighting Intensity Quarter and Quarter Intensity This is the lowest intensity combination

Dynalite Components: Lighting Intensity Half and Full Intensity

Dynalite Components: Lighting Intensity Half and Quarter Intensity

Dynalite Components: Lighting Intensity Full and Quarter Intensity

Dynalite: Variator Knob (Currently turned down twice) The Variator knob further controls the lighting intensity.

Dynalite: Variator Knob When turning the Variator Knob down (clockwise/decrease intensity) Release the additional energy by pressing the Ready/Test button Also known as “bumping”

Dynalite: Variator Knob When turning the power variation knob “up” (counter-clockwise/increase intensity) you do not need to “bump it”

Dynalite: Ratio/Combine Ratio = Asymmetrical setting Light intensity directly corresponds to Power Switch settings Combine = Symmetrical setting Light intensity is equal between lights

Dynalite: Model Delay Off = no delay between pictures On = delay between pictures (1, 2, 4, or 8) seconds

Dynalite: Dimmer Slide Switches Dimmer slide switches (The lights are currently turned ON) The power switches will turn the lights on and off. If the lights are either on or off, when pictures are taken, the lights will still flash.

Dynalite: Dimmer Slide Switches OFF ON

Dynalite: Miscellaneous (Ready/Test) This button serves as a flash test switch and signals when the flash has a 100% readiness. Also used to “bump” excess energy

Dynalite: Audible Ready Indicator The Audible Ready Indicator makes a beep when the flash is ready Not necessary for the Dynalite and lighting equipment to function

Dynalite: Conclusion Lighting is very important for imaging biological specimens Utilize the Dynalite to control lighting to create high quality images Additional Information: content/uploads/2010/09/ppmanual.pdf content/uploads/2010/09/ppmanual.pdf
