CRESTRON SYSTEMS OPERATION: FOR CLASSROOMS IN COCC’S SCIENCE BUILDING & HEALTH CAREERS CENTER

DEFINITION OF TERMS USED Blank Screen: This term defines the state of an overhead projector that is displaying all Black; this allows an instructor to block content from the class that is currently being displayed, Freeze Screen: This term defines the state of an overhead projector is frozen on the last image before the freeze screen button was press; this allows an instructor to freeze an image for further discussion or demonstration. Follow Projector: This term defines the state when the lectern monitor at the instructor’s station will show whatever source is being projected in the classroom.

HOW TO USE THE PROJECTOR&SPEAKERS 1.Select the appropriate source icon from at the bottom of the touch panel. 2.Press “Yes” when prompted to turn on the projector. Pressing “No” will still turn on the room speakers to the selected source audio. 3.Adjust volume as needed. 4.The computer and document camera must be powered on manually. After selecting a source, the “Freeze” and “Blank” buttons will either freeze or black-out the projector image. Press the button again to undo this action. The Blu-ray buttons control the Blu-ray player just as a handheld remote would

HOW TO ADJUST SOURCE VOLUME 1.Observe the source volume gauge in the upper-middle of the touch panel. This indicates the current source level. 2.Press the “Up” arrow to raise volume or the “Down” arrow to lower volume. 3.Press the “Mute” icon to mute or un-mute the volume. A red icon means mute is on.

HOW TO USE MICROPHONE 1.Observe the mic volume gauge in the upper-right corner of the touch panel. This indicates the current mic level. The buttons behave exactly like the volume controls. 2.Mute the mic volume on the touch panel, then lower the mic volume to about 25%. 3.Press & hold the power button on the microphone. The mic LED will light green. 4.Slowly raise the mic volume while speaking until sound is audible in the room. 5.After use, mute the mic on the touch panel, then hold the power button on the microphone until the LED turns off.

HOW TO CHANGE THE LECTERN MONTOR 1.Press the “Lectern Monitor” button at the top of the touch panel. 2.Select the desired video source for your monitor. This will not affect the projector. 3.Monitor video stays on the selected source regardless of projector operation unless “Follow Projector” is selected. 4.Press the “Close” icon to resume touch panel operation.

HOW TO TURN THE SYSTEM OFF 1.Press the “Shutdown” button at the top-right of the touch panel. 2.Press “Yes” to turn the room off or “No” to cancel.

LIFE LINE Reboot the computer Look at the touchpad and make sure the projector BLANK button is not ACTIVE. Make sure the monitor power is turned on. If all of this has been tried, then you should submit a ticket, and if this can not be resolved until a later date expect to move the class if possible until the problem can be resolved. Things one can try before submitting a ticket, and when there is no ITS staff available.
