What is the Mayan ball game? The sport known simply as the ball game was popular across Mesoamerica and played by all the major civilizations from the Olmecs to the Aztecs.

Where did it take place in ancient times? The Mayan ball was a dramatic event, and the court was centre stage. Shaped like a capital ‘I’ built of cut stone, and painted colourful the ball court was a symbol of a cities wealth and powers.

What did they wear? They wore : urban headdress Bird-headed hacha Lion cloth Knee and shin protecter

What was the aim of the game? The goal of the game was to pass the ball around, without having it touch your hands, and then get the ball to pass through one of the rings. Since the rings were so high and players were not allowed to use their hands, it was extremely difficult to get the ball through a ring. In fact, when a player did manage to get a ball through a ring, that usually ended the game. The game ended otherwise when the ball touched the ground.

How to play Theses are really simple step if you follow them: 1)Sort yourselves into two teams. 2)Make sure your waring the right armour. 3)One team has the ball (they start) throw the ball into the centre to gain a point for team. 4)First up to five or more wins. 5)Have fun and enjoy your game.
