 A respiratory therapist treats people with disorders affecting the cardiopulmonary system.  The RRT will diagnose lung and breathing disorders and recommend treatment methods.  The health profession that specializes in the promotion of optimum cardiopulmonary function and health.

 Care for newborns, children, adults, and the elderly  They treat patients with different methods from chest physiotherapy to putting people on ventilators, and track their progress with therapy

 High school diploma or equivalent  Completion of AMA approved respiratory therapist training program in a community college or a 4-year Bachelor’s degree program  Registered respiratory therapist  2-years of experience in the field following training  Passing grade on the written examination given by the National Board of respiratory therapy
