He sold the morning and in the evening on weekends moonlighting newspaper bowling, putting the pins, as well as pure beer pavilions in the park. At the end of primary school, at the age of fourteen, he entered the cannery workers. The work was very hard, and he went to the factory.

Jack life at the university The pace of learning categorically not satisfied, and he decides to quit school and prepare yourself for admission to the University of California. After passing the entrance exams, Jack London joined the California University, but after the 3rd semester because of the lack of funds for education was forced to withdraw.

In the summer of 1903, fell in love with Charmian Kittredge, the writer leaves the family in November 1905 marries her. During the Russo- Japanese war , London a war correspondent.

Sailor Jack London In 1893 he was hired as a sailor on a fishing schooner "Sophie Sutherland" going to catch seals to the shores of Japan and in the Bering sea. First voyage gave London a lot of vivid impressions that formed then the basis for many of his sea stories and novels.

Socialist stories In 1894 he took part in the March of unemployed on Washington (the essay "Hold on!"), was arrested near Niagara falls for vagrancy, after which the month was in prison in Buffalo. After returning home, Jack goes to high school. In the school's log "aegis" he publishes his first socialist essays and stories about his travels along the roads of the USA.

The first book In the spring of 1897, Jack London succumbed to "gold fever" and went to Alaska. During winter London fell ill with scurvy. In San Francisco he returned in 1898, having experienced all the charm of a Northern winter. To do more serious literature was at the age of 23 years, after returning from Alaska: the first Northern stories were published in 1899.

Books Then followed by the following collections of stories: "God of his fathers" (Chicago, 1901), "Children of frost" (new York, 1902), "Faith in man" (new York, 1904), "Moon face" (new York, 1906), "the Lost face" (new York, 1910), as well as novels, "Daughter of snows" (1902), "Sea wolf" (1904), "Martin Eden" (1909), which brought the writer wide popularity. The author very much, for hours a day, and wrote about 40 books in all my not very long writing life.

John’s trip In 1907 the writer take a trip around the world built according to his own drawings of the vessel "Snark”. The journey was collected a rich material for the books "the Voyage of the Snark", "the son of the Sun". By this time, due to the high fees London becomes a wealthy man. His fee amounted to 50 thousand dollars for a book that had a very large sum. However, the writer of the money was never enough.

Popular magazines London actively introduced the latest methods of farming on their land, trying to create the "perfect farm", which eventually led to thousands of debts. To cover them, the writer was forced to engage in literary job, writing base works for the sake of popular magazines.

Heavy time writer At some point work as a writer even began to arouse the disgust of London. In the spring of 1914 the job of the magazine "Collier's" he sent a war correspondent to Mexico, where he wrote articles justifying the U.S. intervention in the internal Affairs of other States, which caused an uproar from party comrades.

Creative crisis In recent years London has experienced a creative crisis, therefore, began to abuse alcohol. Because of the crisis the writer was even forced to go on the purchase of a plot for a new novel. This story was sold to a London. Managed to give a future novel called "Desk murders", but managed to write quite a bit, so it soon died.

The death of a writer London died on 22 November 1916 in Glen Ellena. Last years he suffered from kidney disease, and died from poisoning with morphine prescribed to him. The most famous is the suicide version.

Conclusion Jack London is one of the most prominent foreign writers. I read his stories, "The Son of the Wolf," "Children of the cold," novels "Daughter of the Snows", "Game". One of my favorite book is "White Fang". This is one of his best works. It does not leave indifferent anybody: neither the student, nor of a Mature man, nor gray-haired old man. Only people without soul and heart can remain indifferent over the pages of this book. I recommend to read this wonderful book for all people of all ages.
