Learning Objectives Participants will:  Identify the essential elements of workforce planning  Define the key stakeholders in the workforce planning process  Assess the current and future state of the environment for the state consortium 2

Introduction A strategic plan should include the following:  A strategic vision of where the organization wants to be  Key strategies to be achieved 3

 Plan to achieve the vision –Short term (1 – 2 years) goals with initiatives/programs –Longer term (3 – 5 years) goals and initiatives/programs  Measures of success Introduction 4

 Your name, about your company, role at the company  Where do you see the state consortium five years from now? Ice Breaker 5

1.Who attended your planning meetings? 2.What went most smoothly at the meetings? Was there any resistance or difficulties? 3.What gaps were identified as possibly being able to be filled by the consortium? 4.Discuss how the presentation to management went for you. Discussion of Pre-work 6

 What are the top external factors you anticipate affecting your company in the next 3-5 years? Consider…. –regulatory/legislative, –industry, (new construction?) –economic, –environmental, –technological State of the Industry 7
