What is he coveting?
What is she coveting?
Naboth was a farmer who had a vineyard.
He farmed grapes in his vineyard like his father and grandfather had done before him.
King Ahab noticed that the vineyard was very nice.
King Ahab offered to buy the vineyard and turn it into a garden near his castle.
But Naboth said
King Ahab went home and was very upset that he couldn’t buy the vineyard.
He lay on his bed, turned his face away from the window and would not eat.
Ahab’s wife was Jezebel. She was a wicked woman.
So Naboth was invited to a great supper with many guests at the table.
During the supper, some false witnesses said “Naboth curses God and says bad things about the king!”
Naboth was taken away to be stoned to death.
King Ahab took Naboth’s vineyard since he was now dead.
The prophet Elijah came to visit King Ahab and Queen Jezebel.
In a later battle, the Queen was throne from her castle and dogs ate her body.
