SBRC Standards Based Report Cards- child’s performance is measured against the standards (CAS and CC) The Watch Me Grow (SBRC) binder will go home periodically and sent back to school. This allows communication on your child’s growth and progress towards the grade level standards. Your child will be graphing his/her progress on timed math facts, DLI assessments, reading fluency, etc.

Spelling In spelling, we will work with words to find patterns and ways to help us use correct spelling in all of our daily writing. Correct spelling of high frequency words is expected. The use of our class Word Wall is encouraged to help with this. We will learn and use many spelling patterns through poetry.

What is inquiry? What does it look like and what does it sound like? Students exploring a topic, idea, concept, etc. Students question, hypothesize, examine, evaluate, reflect, etc. Student-focused with teacher guidance. Collaboration with peers is essential! Students learn by discussing with their peers, teaching their peers, and listening to their peers. Group and buddy work. (Explore different points of view, examine different ways to solve a problem, learn how to work together cooperatively.)

Inquiry Based Learning
