♥ W ith a history over 2000 years, Zhenyuan is one of the major historic cultural cities of the state, featuring its ancient building group of the Black Dragon Cave, historic sites and dense minority ethnic customs (in Peace Village). ♥ The Black Dragon Cave shows a most wonderful view with the cultures of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism comprehensively and is unique in layout. ♥ The Black Dragon Cave,built during the Ming Dynasty, seems to cling to the mountainside in an orderly tiered way due to the precipitous cliff, which makes it blend the characteristics of a garden with the style of a temple. The Black Dragon Cave Temple as it is also known includes single and multi-storied pavilions, temples, shrines and palaces. ♥ Zhenyuan, sheltered by the mountains but a land-and-water transportation center since early times is cut through by the Wuyang River into two parts: south“Wei City”and north “Fu City”. Hence it is well-known as the“Oriental Venice”. The Dragon Boat Festival, held on May 25th of every year, is the most ceremonious celebration in Zhenyuan. ♥

♥ Wuyang River Scenic Area is geographically divided into Upper and Lower Wuyang.Flowing through the Miaoling Mountains, the charming and lively Wuyang River runs 95 kilometers from Huangping to Zhenyuan, finally into Yuanjiang River in Hunan Province. The scenic spots in Zhenyuan, Shibing and Huangping, three counties of Kaili, combine beautifully to form the National Wuyang Scenic Area. Grotesque gorges, perilous peaks and crystal-like waters present a wonderful picture. ♥ Wuyang Three Gorges consists of Dragon King Gorge, East (Zhu Ge) Gorge and West Gorge, along which secluded caves, gurgling springs, rugged rocks, dangerous passes and spectacular waterfalls intersperse on the mountains of both banks.

♥ Featured with the typical Karst topography, Mount Yuntai, wreathed in cloud and mist all year round, is also a popular tourist attraction. Forests, fantastic flowers, plants and enigmatic valleys, with rare animals moving lively through, make the mountain a natural treasury. Temples, pavilions and stone inscriptions built during the Ming Dynasty are well- preserved on the Mountain.

Difficult points the Three Gorges: The Yangtze River Three Gorges is a magnificent landscape along Yangtze River grand canyon. It runs from west of Fengjie in Chongqing, and ends at Nanjinguan of Yichang in Hubei province, the total length of 193 km.The world's largest water control project was built in 1994 in Yichang,Hubei.The Qutang Gorge is located in Fengjie, Chongqing, the Wu Gorge is between Wushan,Chongqing and Enshi,Hubei, Xiling in Zigui county in Yichang, Hubei. KuiMen landscape on the back of RMB 10 yuan note reflects symbolical important role in China's history.
