EMAS in Support of Energy Efficiency

Energy efficiency labelling Directive 2010/30/EU of the EP and Council on the indication by labelling and standard product information of the consumption of energy and other resources by energy-related products (replaces the Directive 92/75/EC[1] established an energy consumption labelling scheme) The energy labels of the household appliances are separated into at least four categories: Details identification : according to each appliance, specific details, of the model and its materials Energy class: a colour code associated to a letter (from A to G) that gives an idea of the appliance's electrical consumption Consumption, efficiency, capacity, etc.: this section gives information according to appliance type Noise: the noise emitted by the appliance is described in decibels Commission delegated Regulation which supplements Directive 2010/30/EU with regard to energy labelling instead of Commission Directive to the framework Council Directive 92/75/EC

Energy efficiency labelling Example: Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 392/2012 which supplements Directive 2010/30/EU with regard to energy labelling of household tumble driers has been published in the Official Journal of the European Union. The Regulation, which repeals Directive 95/13/EC from 29 May 2012, places new responsibilities on suppliers and dealers, and brings household tumble driers into line with the new A+ labelling system.

Energy Efficiency – in Eco label Regulation (EC) No 66/2010 provides that specific EU Ecolabel criteria are to be established according to product groups.: Commission Regulations implementing the EP and Council Directive 2005/32/EC with regard to eco-design requirements: 2011/331/EU: Commission Decision of 6 June 2011 on establishing the ecological criteria for the award of the EU Ecolabel for light sources (notified under document C(2011) 3749) Text with EEA relevance 2011/337/EU: Commission Decision of 9 June 2011 on establishing the ecological criteria for the award of the EU Ecolabel for personal computers (notified under document C(2011) 3737) Text with EEA relevance 2011/330/EU: Commission Decision of 6 June 2011 on establishing the ecological criteria for the award of the EU Ecolabel for notebook computers (notified under document C(2011) 3736) Text with EEA relevance 2009/300/EC: Commission Decision of 12 March 2009 establishing the revised ecological criteria for the award of the Community Eco-label to televisions (notified under document number C(2009) 1830) (Text with EEA relevance)
