History ChiMat established in February 2009 by the Department of Health in collaboration with the Department for Education in support of their joint strategy ‘Healthy Lives, Brighter Futures’. Became a Health Intelligence Network in 2013 following a recommendation from the Chief Medical Officer and the independent Children and Young People’s Health Outcomes Forum. 4 National Child and Maternal Health Intelligence Network (ChiMat)
