Lunula - whitish, half-moon shape at the base of your nail underneath the plate.

Cuticle - tissue that overlaps the base of your nail plate and protects the new keratin cells that grow on the nail bed.

Nail folds - the skin that frames three sides of your nail.

Nail bed - the skin underneath the nail plate.

Hair shaft - made up of dead, hard protein called keratin in three layers.

Hair follicle – Includes bulb and papilla.

Hair follicle - Includes bulb and papilla Papilla – Contains tiny capillaries that feed the cells. Bulb – Surrounds papilla. Cells here divide every hours. (Fastest in the body)
