Examine concepts of power and authority in the governance of the societies studied. Aztecs lived long ago and had a very different way of using their own people and able to turn it into a very powerful weapon. The Aztecs had a leader and the leader would have sacrifices held for religious beliefs and they would also shed their own blood in the name of their religion. This shows that the aspect of the god they believed effected there way of governing. If the leader had not made the right decision and the people were mad they would kill or even dethrone him. With the people at power when the leader made a bad decision they had to choose a new leader wiser and stronger than the past one. With different cities built the Aztecs or Mayans were changing and evolving until they had a certain point in time when they discovered war and it made them wealthier. So more people came until the society could not bear anymore people to feed or give homes to. When new societies started building the Mayans used the same rituals and the same method of war. The difference with the new societies is that they have a method of trade now and they can also use this method to grow at a healthy rate. The Mayans using this method survived for thousands of years until they just left and today we still wonder why did they do that?

Investigate the roles and responsibilities of members of the societies studied. Having people like the Aztecs they would use different methods other than making peace. Often the parents would teach their children and if the children didn’t listen the parents would beat them but only at a certain age. With the parents being parents the younger males would hunt and help bring food to the tribe or society. The women would be gatherers cooks or even make clothes. Nobles or even priest would be worshippers of the god and teach the people by sacrificial extent. Having the people believe made them actually want to work for something. The Mayans are using war for a way of expanding but once they are beat they cant really build it back up. Until another society is built and they either join or make war with them, and mostly they cant win. The people in these societies rarely made peace and they only used weak weapons like spears. They didn’t have advanced swords for when the Spanish came. They soon would be dominated and turned into a totally different type of peoples, and made into slaves.

Investigate the roles and responsibilities of members of the societies studied. Leaders showed the power and strength in someone of great knowledge and strength if you are a believer in the gods. Having so many different leaders the roles of them are different and make the citizens physically feel higher of themselves because they have a great leader. With the children making small every day items the adults could casually go hunting or build more huts, and miscellaneous items. The priest would usually do the sacrificial work they could be-head someone or help the king shed his blood. Using all this will make the society believe and have using their god to go to war and having soldiers made it easier. Having all the men fighting the women were very vulnerable with the children. And many times the women would be captured and the war would be over. Because most of the men would forfeit to get their wives back, but mostly they would be called cowards by the other nations or society. More often it would be small societies trying to expand and making their move to bigger territory.
