Sailing the Ocean Blue

 How does wind speed affect travel time of a sailboat? Testable Question

 The medium wind speed will make the sailboats go the fastest because the high wind speed will make the boats tip over. Hypothesis

 Model sailboat  Fan with low, medium, and high settings  Water tank  Stopwatch  Data chart Materials

1.Set up the fan behind the tank of water. 2.Turn the fan on low speed. 3.Place a boat at starting point. 4.Start the stopwatch when the sailboat is released and stop it when the boat reaches the other side. 5.Record data in chart. 6.Repeat steps 1-5 at the medium fan speed and then at the high speed.
