Presentation transcript:

October 24, 2014 ALILA HIGHLIGHT REEL

 Ms. Ruiz’s classroom was working intensely on analyzing two poems. Her students knew all the literary elements and were engaged in great discussions! You should have seen all the academic vocabulary flying around that classroom! I was so engaged that I didn’t want to leave! THIS CLASS WAS 212 AMAZING! AMAZING CLASSROOMS OF THE WEEK

 As I was hanging out in Ms. Shouman’s classroom, I saw this great poster showcasing the different ways students think about solving mathematical problems! Mr. Martin’s classroom is also doing the same thing. I overheard his students trying to describe to Mr. Martin how they came up with their answer as Mr. Martin was writing down their thinking from their verbal explanation. It’s AMAZING to see all the different way kids are thinking about how to get the answer. AMAZING CLASSROOMS OF THE WEEK CONT.

 Ms. Chavez was doing an awesome job at the guided reading table! She was having the students preview the book. She was asking them a lot of questions as they went through the pages. AMAZING start to the guided reading lesson. While she was doing this, her students were working on some AMAZING activities! If you want to check out how Ms. Chavez runs her guided reading groups, just ask! I’m sure she wouldn’t mind AMAZING CLASSROOMS OF THE WEEK CONT.

 Literature circles are AMAZING in Mrs. Avila’s room! Oh my goodness…I wish you could have heard what I heard from these 3 rd graders! They were discussing chapters from their books, going back and finding text evidence, AND…everyone in their group participated in the discussion. They also used complete sentences every single time they spoke. WAY TO BE 212 and an AMAZING Alila teacher (and students)! AMAZING CLASSROOMS OF THE WEEK CONT.

 These amazing students are working hard in LEXIA. Mr. Patterson does a short little awards ceremony on Monday mornings for the students who pass a level. He encourages them and celebrates their success! AMAZING!! AMAZING SCHOLARS OF THE WEEK

 What a great way to kick off Red Ribbon Week! The fashion show was the highlight of the assembly! I think the whole school will be looking great in all our dress up day attire next week! RED RIBBON WEEK KICK OFF ASSEMBLY

Gooooooooo………. EAGLES!!
