RESEARCH QUESTION THE FIRST STEP IN RESEARCH IS TO DETERMINE WHAT YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR TOPIC. THIS IS CALLED THE RESEARCH QUESTION.

RESEARCH QUESTION Example: If my topic is the Syrian Refugee Crisis, research questions could include: What are the causes of the SRC? or What is the situation for the SRC in 2015? or Why are so many people from Syria trying to immigrate to Europe? or What is life like in refugee camps today?

GET TO KNOW YOUR TOPIC Pre-Research is the first step for research. Search for general information about your topic.

GET TO KNOW YOUR TOPIC LOOK FOR: key words Phrases Events Dates etc. No more than minutes! **MAKE A LIST**
