Matthew 1:18-23

18 Now this is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant by the Holy Spirit. 19 Joseph, her fiancé, being a just man, decided to break the engagement quietly, so as not to disgrace her publicly.

20 As he considered this, he fell asleep, and an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. ‘Joseph, son of David,’ the angel said, ‘do not be afraid to go ahead with your marriage to Mary. For the child within her has been conceived by the Holy Spirit. 21 And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.’

22 All of this happened to fulfill the Lord’s message through his prophet: 23 ‘Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and he will be called Immanuel (meaning, God is with us).

From Me-Centered To Christ Centered

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

JESUS CAME TO SHOW HIS COMPASSION FOR US. JESUS CAME TO SHOW HIS COMPASSION FOR US.

“He felt great compassion for the crowds that came, because their problems were so great and they didn’t know where to go for help. They were like sheep without a shepherd.” Matthew 9:6

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

“ ‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the LORD. ‘They are plans for good and not disaster, to give you a hope and a future’ ” Jeremiah 29:11

“I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.” John 10:10

I CHOOSE TO SHOW LOVE FOR OTHERS. I CHOOSE TO SHOW LOVE FOR OTHERS.

“We love because God loved us first.” 1 John 4:19

“Love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:39

I CHOOSE TO SHOW HIS COMPASSION FOR OTHERS. I CHOOSE TO SHOW HIS COMPASSION FOR OTHERS.

“Then the rich man said, ‘Please, Father Abraham, send him to my father’s home. For I have five brothers, and I want him to warn them about this place of torment so they won’t have to come here when they die.’” Luke 16:

“But my life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus – the work of telling others the Good News about God’s wonderful kindness and love.” Acts 20:24

“For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6
