Bollinbrook Curriculum Applying knowledge/understanding  There is a significant increase in expectation of pupils to develop their understanding of each skill more deeply and apply the skills. We are looking for a ‘mastery’ of understanding of each skill/area of maths.  Skills of reasoning, e.g. ? + 4 = 10 These ‘missing number’ questions are used for all areas of number. Or which would you rather have 8/4 of a bag of sweets or 2 ¼ bag of sweets?  Word problems that include more steps, An end of Y6 example Old question: what is the area of the football field 15m x 17m? New question: The rugby pitch is 150m2. A football pitch measures 15m x 17m. By how much is the football pitch larger than the rugby pitch?
